Over ten teams (all small schools located primarily in the northeast) made the trip to Leverone Fieldhouse today to compete in the Dartmouth Invitational. The meet went very well and although the competition didn't exactly make Florida State quake in their spikes, everyone had fun. As a whole, the team performed about as well as expected; however, coming from the Terrier Classic at BU - which is run on one of the fastest indoor tracks in the world - everyone's times were a little slower than last week.
Some meet highlights include fellow '12 Brendan Norris winning the 800 with a blazing 1:56 (that's on pace for a 3:52 mile for those not familiar with the event), Muhammad Abdul-Shako0r ('10) lighting up the track winning both the 60 (6.95) and the 200 (22.75), and Tim Edmonds ('09) shocking the entire fieldhouse by running a sub-50 400 (49.71) in his first ever open 400.
As for me, I feel pretty good about how I ran. I only competed in the 60, but qualified for the finals and finished in 6th place with a time of 7.17. While this is .07 seconds slower than my personal best, I am simply happy to be back competing after having sprained my ankle two weeks ago at practice.

The Big Green is hosting another home meet next weekend against non-Ivy rivals UNH and UVM. Unlike today's meet, next week will have a team score, so a winner will be determined upon the meet's conclusion.
